Climate Awareness Campaign

The College of Environmental Sciences at Al-Qasim Green University, in collaboration with the Women's Affairs Unit, recently organized an educational campaign titled “Global Warming and Its Impact on Iraq’s Climate.” This initiative aimed to raise awareness among students and staff about the environmental consequences of climate change. As part of the campaign, informative posters and awareness materials were distributed across the university campus, highlighting the local impacts of global warming and outlining key measures to mitigate its effects in Iraq. This campaign is part of a broader series of scientific and community-oriented initiatives by the college, designed to foster environmental awareness and encourage research into pressing ecological challenges that directly affect our communities. Al-Qasim Green University Organizes a Lecture on Sustainable Food Practices

As part of its commitment to promoting environmental stewardship and sustainable development, the Department of Dairy Science and Technology at the College of Food Sciences, Al-Qasim Green University, held a lecture titled "Sustainable Food Practices." The session was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Sadiq Diaa Munir and Lecturer Dr. Haneen Abdul Amir Latif, and focused on innovative approaches to food production and consumption that support environmental and societal health. The lecture emphasized the importance of adopting agricultural practices that protect soil, water, and air quality, while strengthening local economic production. Participants explored strategies for selecting healthy, sustainable foods and supporting the economic sustainability of farmers. A special focus was given to the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in advancing sustainable food practices. The speakers highlighted how AI technologies can improve food production efficiency, reduce waste, and analyze data related to food production, distribution, and consumption. They also discussed how AI can forecast food demand, optimize production and distribution strategies, enhance agricultural and livestock productivity, and identify the best methods to minimize food waste across the supply chain. College of Biotechnology Showcases Natural Health and Environmental Products at Sustainability Festival

In a distinguished contribution to the Third Sustainability Conference organized by Al-Mustaqbal University, the College of Biotechnology at Al-Qasim Green University presented an innovative exhibition highlighting sustainable and health-promoting solutions. Assistant Professor Dr. Hala Jumaa Asri led the exhibition with a display of natural skincare and haircare products, meticulously crafted from plant-based ingredients and free from harmful chemicals. The exhibition emphasized the critical contrast between traditional industrial products—often reliant on petroleum derivatives and chemical preservatives—and natural alternatives that actively reduce pollution and protect vital environmental resources.
